Each release, we dig into the major upgrades for each module and provide you analysis on how it impacts the system. Today we are going to take a detailed look at updates in SAP SuccessFactors Performance Management

The preview release allows customers the chance to test out new features before they officially go live in the system on the production date. Each preview of SAP SuccessFactors quarterly updates comes about one month before the production, which is December 6 for this quarter.
Let’s look at the major enhancements for Q4 2019 in SAP SuccessFactors Performance Management, in which we’ve ordered them with the most important updates at the top.
People Search
Auto Complete User Search: As of Q4 2019, the enhanced people search is adopted by Performance Management for the following pages: Delete Document, Manage Document Visibility, Route Document, Restore Deleted Document, Route Signature Stage Document, Modify Form Route Map, Manage Route Maps – Configure User Roles, and Form Inbox. For details.
The benefits of the Auto-Complete component will show multiple employments, inactive users, contingent workers, if desired (all with icons to identify) and will allow for searching with or without accents and special characters.

Document Transfer
Matrix Manager to Keep Form in Inbox: In a system that has turned off document transfer and has the EP role (all matrix managers) configured as reviewers in an iterative step. When matrix managers of an employee are updated/added during a EP role review step, the matrix manager who is currently reviewing the form will keep the form in their step. Changes to other matrix managers who don’t currently have the form in the current iterative step of EP role will be reflected to form’s reviewer list accordingly.

Job Profile Builder
JPB competency rating repository: If you’re using Job Profile Builder, the latest official ratings of employee competencies can be prepopulated in Performance Management forms. Having the ratings as a reference, reviewers can speed up the performance review process. The enhancement offers a more flexible and efficient way of rating selection – especially in cases where the last official rating on the competency remains valid for the current reporting period.
To select rating sources and whether to prepopulate last competency ratings, go to Admin Center > Form Template Settings.
How to turn it on: Admin Opt-in.
Mobile
Adjust Goal Section Weights: iOS SuccessFactors Mobile app Performance Management users, with relevant permissions, are able to adjust the Goal Section Weights to affect the overall rating calculations.
Adjust Competency Section Weights: iOS SuccessFactors Mobile app Performance Management users, with relevant permissions, are able to adjust the Competency Section Weights to affect the overall rating calculations.
Adjust Item Weights: iOS SuccessFactors Mobile app Performance Management users, with relevant permissions, are able to adjust the Item Weights to affect the overall rating calculations.
How to turn it on: This is a universal update.
Fixed Issues
Translations in Summary Section: We resolved an issue where behavior translation in summary section are not displayed correctly.
Routemap Dates: We resolved an issue where user is not able to select a date in Form Attributes of Route Form tool than current year.
Modify Form Routemap: We resolved an issue where user gets an error when updating the route map of the form via Modify Form Route Map admin tool.
