At Rizing, we have a long history of gaining real world experience, even when that experience includes learning things the hard way. But that experience is often our greatest asset when we can use it to save our customers that pain.

Our time in the trenches of SAP® implementation means we understand the importance of a well-executed implementation strategy.

In this article, we delve into key recommendations to help you successfully navigate the SAP® SuccessFactors® Employee Central implementation process, from understanding its functionalities to ensuring accurate data migration and integration with downstream applications.

By following these recommendations, you can establish a streamlined HR management system that supports your organization’s growth and maximizes the value of your SAP implementation.

1) Clearly understand Employee Central before defining your future state for data inventory, integrations, and reporting.

Employee Central is flexible and able to meet many unique requirements. SAP designed the system around best practices, so you can confidently use it to build your master data template.

The organizational and employee data fields need consistent definitions to support correct data migration and maintenance.

2) Define a consistent global organizational structure.

SuccessFactors standard organizational structure includes legal entity, business units, divisions, departments, and cost centers. You can add layers using Metadata Framework functionality.

We recommend you gather a list of job titles and job roles and group them on commonalities like family.

3) Document the process to gather accurate and timely HR data for each location.

Build any constraints into your global project plan. Have a change management strategy identified for mitigating them.

Work with your implementation partner to build these scenarios into your project timelines.

4) Create common global definitions for employee data.

Consider possible issues like – the definition of a full-time employee might differ in the US and China.

Creating consistent data field definitions helps here as well.

5) Commit to Employee Central as the master data source – the “one truth.”

This ensures accurate, timely data flows into third-party systems (like payroll).

Be pragmatic when considering local or custom interfaces – integration is time-consuming and costly.

Organizations that standardize on an “adopt, not adapt” approach will gain a more scalable, maintainable system.

Focus on integrations that are fundamental to business operations.

6) Decide if your long-term plans are to administer Employee Central globally using a shared services model or if you’ll process transactions on a national/regional level.

We recommend identifying global administrators and involving them in the project planning and rollout.

7) Understand SuccessFactors definitions for job families and roles.

Job families define broad job categories. You can create any type of job family.

Example: Create job families for significant functions within your organization, such as Information Technology.

The job role is a way to identify roles in a company that have a similar impact but exists in different departments, require different skill sets, or have varying levels of responsibility.

Example: Job Family: Information Technology / Associated Job Role: IT Manager, Regional System Administrator.

8) Create a minimal number of critical job roles within Role Based Permissions.

Start with your standard list and add incremental roles during the design phase.

We often see 8-10 defined roles, including Employee, Manager, Global HR, Regional HRBP, Payroll, Recruiter, Finance, IT, and Operations.

9) Build consistent, enterprise-wide workflows in Employee Central.

Workflow design will be crucial to user adoption and ensuring the solution is a true people solution, not just an HR application. Seek to streamline approvers globally and design for employee and manager self-service.

Accurate, approved data in Employee Central will make integrations with downstream applications easier.

10) Identify the project implementation team before the project begins.

Ensure project team members are committed to the project and have the right knowledge to engage stakeholders.

Choose a global system administrator and make sure they are included in the project to guarantee knowledge transfer and training.

We suggest a project team of Business, IT, and HR decision-makers.

11) Set pragmatic expectations about the implications of rolling out this system to multiple countries.

For example, do all employees have access to a laptop or PC? Do all locations have enough internet bandwidth?

12) Involve decision-makers in the project and enable them to make timely decisions.

Create a three-tiered internal governance model:

A steering committee to set direction, maintain alignment to larger organizational goals, and sustain project engagement.

Sponsors to raise awareness, maintain alignment within regions and functional
areas, build credibility, and make decisions directly affecting the organization.

A project team to drive success, be constantly involved, make decisions, and represent project stakeholders.

13) Focus on an effective change management approach to drive user adoption.

Enabling your workforce to adopt new processes in a streamlined way will put your project in the best position for success and maximize the value you expect, whether it be a new SAP implementation or another change initiative.

Need More Focused Help?

The numbers vary. But some quick Google searches for “how often do software implementation projects fail?” returns some pretty depressing results.

The best way to improve those odds is to work with an experienced partner like Rizing. Feel free to contact us and discuss the best way to work together.

Sorry ChatGPT, Leadership Skills Are Still Human https://rizing.com/human-capital-management/leadership-skills-still-human/ Thu, 18 May 2023 21:00:08 +0000 https://rizing.com/?p=57820 Discover why AI tools like ChatGTP have limitations in areas such as creation, strategy, empathy, and leadership.

The post Sorry ChatGPT, Leadership Skills Are Still Human appeared first on Rizing.

]]>
It was New Year’s just yesterday, and no one was talking about it.

Now, the writers are talking about it. The marketers are talking about it. The programmers are talking about it. The lawyers and accountants are talking about it.

Artificial Intelligence.

ChatGTP. Jasper. Bard. Or any of the 1000 new AI-based tools already hitting the market.

A common benchmark for new technologies is how soon they reach 100M users.

The telephone took 75 years. The world wide web took seven years. Instagram? 2.5 years.

ChatGTP hit the mark in two months.

Between writing blog posts, creating social updates, weekly menus, poetry, and fiction, we’re still exploring what tools like ChatGTP can do.

But it’s clear (for now, at least) that there are things AI can’t do.

It can’t – truly – create. It can’t strategize. It can’t feel. It can’t empathize.

And it can’t lead.

Here are five leadership actions that still need the human touch:

Leaders Question

From consultant to analyst to the formal project leader, one way every team member can display leadership is by asking questions:

  • Why are we doing it this way?
  • Is this the right thing to do?
  • Have we tried this before?
  • What challenges does it solve?
  • Is it creating any new issues we need to address?
  • Are we doing this just because someone called it a best practice or because we always do it this way?

Getting answers from people in different roles can bring a broader range of expertise to bear on team decisions.

Leaders Challenge

Several years ago, I was part of a small project team at a customer site. One of the team members was underperforming, and being a small team, it was obvious.

Ralph was the team lead and he had a great style. He made it clear to everyone that we needed to do our homework, then come to the table with a point of view. We then had to present that first to the team and then to the client.

The underperforming team member rose to the challenge and started coming to the table more after that.

Ralph’s approach inspired me to challenge the teams I lead in similar ways.

Leaders Collaborate

I’m a proponent of servant leadership, defined as:

“…focusing primarily on the growth and well-being of people and the communities to which they belong. While traditional leadership generally involves the accumulation and exercise of power by one at the “top of the pyramid,” servant leadership is different. The servant-leader shares power, puts the needs of others first and helps people develop and perform as highly as possible.” I try to give my team members the opportunities and tools to exhibit leadership, perform their work, and achieve their goals.

But leadership isn’t a one-way street.

I also rely on team members to collaborate, advise, and provide input to me.

For example, I’m working to collaborate better and more frequently with our finance department. We’re learning that our work is more connected now that we’re both using SAP S4. My inputs directly affect their financial reporting.

As a project manager, I need to do a better job of putting my forecasts in. If I do that, the financials they generate will be more accurate.

Leaders Learn

Every day is a learning curve with its own challenges.

We have a new tool called Passport. It’s used to store configuration values, report on what those values are, track changes to them, and get signoffs on those changes.

I didn’t know how to use it, and my team wasn’t strong on it either.

I found some training videos to watch. Then I got access to the demo environment and poked around to learn even more.

I became the local subject matter expert on this tool and can now help my team take better advantage of it.

Leaders Communicate

I try to be a clear communicator. I like establishing expectations clearly and creating an environment where people feel free to speak up.

I’m working to improve communication by including team members that might otherwise feel isolated due to their location.

I lead project managers in the US, Canada, Ireland, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Singapore.

I have weekly delivery meetings with these groups, and they can be hard to schedule. I have to flex to accommodate everyone. During some meetings, it’s already evening our time, but that’s what works for them.

I’ll also bring topics from one regional meeting back to another just to ensure the entire team is collaborating on solutions.

Not Yet, ChatGTP

One day, maybe more of these actions will be able to be done by AI. But for now and the foreseeable future, leadership is a human domain.

We’ve broken down the major H1 2023 SAP SuccessFactors®  updates to help you easily digest the latest changes. In this post, we’ll look at what’s new in Payroll.

You must install the Synchronization Support Package SPB9 to use the new features.

Avoid Split of Master Data Records When Moving Full Transmission Start Date

This feature creates more continuous data records. It prevents splits in master data records when admins move the full transmission start date (FTSD into the future.

What is FTSD?

The point-to-point employee master data replication from Employee Central to Employee Central Payroll uses a key-date called the full transmission start date (FTSD). Your system administrators defined the key-date at the beginning of the project implementation.

The replication framework filters out all master data records with an end date before the FTSD.

After the go-live, we recommend you periodically move the FTSD into the future to reduce data volume and improve performance.

SAP closed a gap by preventing the sometimes unneeded splits of infotype time slices created when the full transmission start date (FTSD) is moved into the future.

New Onboarding (Standard Event) for Payroll Tasks

With this enhancement, SAP added a new Onboarding (Standard Event) for New Zealand and the United Kingdom to support specific onboarding tasks for Payroll administrators.

For example: If an employee chooses tax code STC (tailored tax code) in the onboarding form, the Payroll administrator needs to start a manual process to create the infotype P0313 in the Employee Central Payroll system.

For this initiation, a payroll task must be available in Employee Central so that the Payroll administrator can easily find it and take the necessary action.

Enhanced Application Log for Push Replication (SLG1)

Users can now view the application log for push replication.

Push replication happens immediately and is useful for job events like hire, rehire, and termination. It’s now possible to analyze technical errors, such as missing authorizations during push replication runs, using the Application Log (transaction SLG1) in the Employee Central Payroll system.

With this enhancement, log data about the push replication is available in the Application log (SLG1). Analyzing errors is easier and faster.

Support for Connection of One Employee Central Instance to Multiple Payroll Solutions by Legal Entity

This enhancement adds the Legal Entity List field to the Payroll System Configuration (PSC) MDF object, allowing one Employee Central system to connect to several SAP Payroll solutions.

This enhancement makes it possible to configure multiple PSCs for a single country/region and connect each PSC of that country/region to a different SAP Payroll solution based on the legal entity. Depending on the configuration, the employee data belonging to different Legal Entities are replicated into the corresponding Payroll Systems.

Enhanced Alert Management in Payroll Control Center

The My Alerts application in Payroll Control Center now supports filtering alerts based on alert status and provides the Key Indicator and Details columns for alerts marked as Resolved.

Validation rules are now sorted by the number of assigned alerts, unassigned alerts, and resolved alerts in descending order. Payroll administrators can filter validation rules based on alert status and search terms.

In both worklists, SF adds the Resolved Alerts column after the Not Assigned Alerts column to provide the number of alerts marked resolved in each payroll process.

On the Resolved tab, SF provides Key Indicator and Details columns to help administrators decide whether to forward or undo a resolved alert.

We’ve broken down the major SAP SuccessFactors® H1 2023 updates to help you easily digest the latest changes. In this post, we’ll look at what’s new in Onboarding.

Configurable Due Date for New Hire Task Completion

It’s now possible to customize the default due date for Onboarding New Hire Tasks (Personal Data Collection, Additional Data Collection, New Hire Data Review, Document Flows, and Rehire Verification)

Normally, this date is the same as the start date, but in the new release, you can customize the number of days before the Start Date.

This minor enhancement will allow you to change the due date for onboarding tasks and increase their timely completion. This is handy since these tasks must be done before others, like Manage Pending Hires.

Take advantage of this new setting by making a small configuration change in the Admin Centre.

Caveats

  • It’s a global setting and will apply to all new hires.
  • You can’t dictate different dates for different tasks.
  • It’s only applicable to New Hires (Onboarding) and does not impact Offboarding, Internal Hire, Compliance, or Hiring Manager activities.

How to turn it on: Admin Opt-in via client configuration change.

Rehire with New Employment on Legal Entity Transfer

Onboarding now supports legal entity and country transfer with New Employment.

The process requires you to terminate the employee in EC with a relevant event reason (e.g., International Transfer), then set a start date on the application in RCM to be one day after their termination date in EC.

After initiating ONB, the system will identify the applicant as an international and legal entity transfer. They will automatically be marked as Rehire with New Employment.

The onboardee can complete the new hire tasks by logging directly to their current SuccessFactors home page as an employee and using the new “context switcher” icon.

Caveats

This only works for candidates initiated from Recruiting (manual onboardees or from external ATS are not supported).

This feature doesn’t support rehire with old employment.

Dynamic Determination of Applicable New Hire Tasks

The “Help Us to Know You Better” card will now show only relevant tasks applicable to your process. This minor feature represents a significant improvement in user experience, as onboardees were sometimes confused by seeing additional tasks that may never activate (e.g., Additional Data Collection or Document Flow).

This enhancement hides those non-relevant tasks.

This automatic and universal change requires no action.

Configurable New Hire for Onboarding

Admins can now create Hire templates for Onboarding which allow block customization (EC portlets) applicable in Onboarding.

You can create multiple templates and have business rules drive the selection of the appropriate template. The best part is including MDF objects which allows you to remove Additional Data Collection, streamline the data collection process for onboardees, and sync with the Employee Profile (just like any other data).

In Rehire with Old Employment, you must keep collecting MDF object data via Additional Data Collection.

You’ll need to make several configuration steps to enable this feature.

Custom Email Notification Triggers Using Business Rules

This enhancement allows you to configure business rules to trigger Onboarding email notifications. This wasn’t possible before.

For example, you can create a business rule to trigger an email notification when personal data collection is completed.

This feature is available to all clients but will require you to configure the business rule with the corresponding email notification.

We’ve broken down the major H1 2023 SAP SuccessFactors® updates to help you easily digest the latest changes. In this post, we’ll look at what’s new in Employee Central.

Effective-Dated Time Profile – General Availability

An effective-dated Time Profile allows users to make effective-dated changes to the Time Profile object, like adding or removing time types on a specific date, without creating a new time profile and adding an effective-dated entry in the employee’s job information record. This feature eliminates the need to create a new job info record for all users.

This feature is not supported when EC time off is enabled for Leave of Absence Only.

How to turn it on: Customer Configured

Configurable Decimal Places for Pay Component Groups

Admins can now configure decimal places for pay component groups.

Once configured, the decimal places are updated throughout the UI:

  • People Profile
  • Manager Self-Service (MSS)
  • History UI
  • Compa Ratio/Range Penetration
  • Compensation Widgets

Options are 0 to 5 decimal places with 3 being the system default.

Decimal places for the pay component group are now consistent with those defined for associated pay components.

How to turn it on: Customer Configured

Configurable Concurrent Employment

Administrators can now configure a concurrent hiring process. They can create concurrent employment templates with the required blocks of Employment Information, Secondary Employment Information, and Job Information. Templates can also include other standard or custom MDF blocks.

Admins can add permissions to templates. With multiple templates configured, admins can gate access based on business needs, like specific locations.

How to turn it on: Customer Configured

Prevent Deletion of Global Information on Editing UI

Admins can now prevent users from deleting global information records on the editing UI of people profile blocks. Once this feature is enabled, users can’t delete a record for global information, change the value in the country field, delete, and then add another country in global information. Admins can enable this setting via Company System in Logo Settings. It’s similar to the existing address setting.

How to turn it on: Customer Configured

Increased Access Level in Localized Biographical Information

Administrators can now grant view and edit access to the country/region-specific field entities in the permission roles. Previously, they could only grant view and edit access of the Localized Biographical Information section in the permission roles.

How to turn it on: Customer Configured

New Configuration for Short-Term Disability USA

This feature allows admins to associate time type with an absence pay scheme for short-term disability-related absences. Instead of creating a one-time type for each absence pay policy, admins can associate a time type with an absence pay scheme and then associate both with the absence pay policy. They can then associate this absence pay policy with the relevant employee.

How to turn it on: Contact Partner Enablement

We’ve broken down the major H1 2023 SAP SuccessFactors® updates to help you easily digest the latest changes. In this post, we’ll look at what’s new in Platform.

Minor Visual Changes in 1H 2023

SAP made various minor visual enhancements in this release. The following changes are of particular note:

  • Text changes (labels, error messages, or roll-over texts)
  • Iconography (new or changed icons)
  • Interaction pattern (new position of interaction, new order of list, new or changed buttons)
  • Styling (layout, spacing, or other design changes)

How to turn it on: This is a universal update

This could have an impact on client documentation and the future look and feel of the site.

Horizon Visual Theme Automatically On by Default

SAP turned on the Horizon visual theme automatically for all customers by default.

The Horizon visual theme is the latest SAP Fiori design system evolution. It was introduced in 2H 2022 and is available now on the most commonly-used pages in the HXM Suite. It replaces the legacy SAP Fiori themes Quartz (for Fiori 3) and Belize (for Fiori 2).

How to turn it on: This is a universal update.

What’s Changed:

In the current version, the Enable Horizon visual theme for the SAP Fiori setting is selected by default, so the Horizon visual theme is automatically on in all systems.

In the previous version, the Enable Horizon visual theme for the SAP Fiori setting wasn’t selected by default, so the Horizon visual theme was off by default in all systems.

Enhanced Name Matching Logic in Universal People Search

SAP enhanced the name-matching logic in Universal People Search for more accurate search results.

As of the 1H 2023 release, SAP improved the existing name-matching logic and added a switch to control handling the special character “*” when you search for employees.

Currently, SuccessFactors ignores “*” in all Latin and English queries by default. If you want to search for employees and are not sure about the exact spelling of their names, you can use the special character “*” as a wildcard.

How to turn it on: Use the switch.

What’s Changed:

In the current version, SAP optimized the logic and added a switch to let you decide whether to use the special character “*” when searching.

Previously the special character lowered the search result accuracy when the query contained multiple keywords.

Customizable Quick Actions

In the Quick Action settings, you can now:

  • Create up to five custom quick actions, with many of the same configuration options as custom cards but with the same design pattern as standard quick actions.
  • Change the order of standard and custom quick actions (except for Reminders and Favorites, which always appear last).
  • View the list of quick actions on a separate Manage Quick Actions page instead of a dialog window.

This enhances the Quick Action menu to allow you to customize it.

How to turn it on: Custom Quick Actions are optional

How it looks now:

Disabling and Deleting Home Page Cards

As an administrator, if there are card types that aren’t a fit for your company, you can now stop using them on the home page.

First, disable them so they’re no longer generated. Then delete them so that they’re removed from the home page for all users.

How to turn it on: Activated through Role Based Permissions and Manage Home Page.

How it looks now:

Upload and Export Multiple Profile Photos in Scheduled Job Manager

You can now create, manage, and monitor scheduled jobs to upload and export multiple employee profile photos at once in the Scheduled Job Manager admin tool.

Previously, profile photos could only be bulk uploaded in provisioning. The new Scheduled Job Manager lets admins upload and export profile photos.

How to turn it on: This is a universal upgrade managed through Role Based Permissions.

Show Users with Valid Support Access in Manage Support Access

You can grant or remove support access using the Manage Support Access admin tool. Now, SuccessFactors adds a new option, Show Users with Valid Support Access, to help you filter user accounts with support access.

Previously there wasn’t a way to search for users with existing Manage Support Access.

This enhancement helps security admins have a view of users with access to the system through provisioning.

How to turn it on: Assigned through Role-Based Permissions

How it looks now:

Change Audit Reporting for User Account Management

You can now run change audit reports to track user account changes, including changes to:

  • account status
  • login name
  • login method
  • locale
  • time zone
  • account type
  • global user ID
  • person UUID
  • How to turn it on: Assigned through Role-Based Permissions

How it looks now:

Import and Export Background Information in Scheduled Job Manager

You can now create and manage scheduled jobs to import and export background information, including its attachments, in the Scheduled Job Manager admin tool.

This was previously managed in a separate tool.

How to turn it on: Assigned through Role-Based Permissions

How it looks now:

Added File Size Limit for Importing MDF Data

You can only import MDF data in files smaller than 500 MB when using Import and Export Data in Admin Center. You can import larger files using FTP, where the size limit is 1 GB.

You will now receive an error message when importing an MDF file over 500 MB in Import and Export Data

How to turn it on: This is a universal upgrade

How it looks now:

Export of List of Rules Including Their Rule Assignments

You can now export a list of rules, including their rule assignments, as a CSV file to get an overview of where the rules are used.

This enhancement helps determine if a business rule is being used in the system.

This option only shows assignments for rules that have application-specific scenarios. Assignments for Basic scenario rules aren’t supported.

How to turn it on: This is a universal upgrade

We’ve broken down the major H1 2023 SAP SuccessFactors® updates to help you easily digest the latest changes. In this post, we’ll look at what’s new in the Learning module.

The H1 2023 Learning release is split between the Enhanced Course Home updates and improved integration with other SuccessFactors® modules.

Many previously sunsetted features are also a step closer to complete removal.

Course Home Enhancements

The Course Home experience became standard and turned on by default in H2 2022. Customers can turn it off via an “Admin Opt-out.” In the H2 2023 release, it will be the only option.

Managers

In this release, Course Home Enhancements include managers being able to register other people using the class details page, and the ability to assign others from the item details page.

Managers can also add to learning history, remove, and recommend items when viewing their employees’ learning plans, view program details, and review curriculum requirements.

Users

Users can add comments to approval requests. The course must have a price and “view instructional messages regarding registration” configured by administrators.

The “Competencies” tab is now “Attributes” for all users. The label is visible to all users and has a link.

Users can now edit their responses to Special Requests in class registration forms – up until the registration closing date or the class start date (if no closing date applies to the registration).

Programs

This release enhances the Program Details page after completing or closing an item launched from the program.

Disagree

SuccessFactors will display a message informing them they won’t receive credit if a user clicks the Disagree button when using the AICC wrapper. The program will then give them a chance to make a different selection.

Integration Enhancements

The H1 2023 release of Learning improves integration with third-party software.

MS Teams

For customers with the extended integration between SAP SuccessFactors® and Microsoft 365, and the SuccessFactors® app installed in their Teams client, SAP SuccessFactors® will display learning assignment information and manager approval on adaptive cards in the Teams chatbot.

Talent Intelligence Hub

Learning can now integrate with the Talent Intelligence Hub framework to add attributes for competencies and skills to learning items, programs, objectives, and tasks. The key to this integration is using Attributes and the new Attributes Synchronization automatic process to synchronize attributes from the Talent Intelligence Hub.

Competencies are not replaced with Attributes, which has resulted in disabling that competency connector process.

Integration Review

You can now review the integration status of Learning with your SuccessFactors® Platform. SuccessFactors will complete the actual integration, but you can review it in System Administration  Configuration BizX with three possible statuses:

  • Sealed: Integration is sealed and can’t be updated by an Admin or Partner.
  • System Confirmed: SAP validated the integration, and it’s ready to be sealed.
  • Admin Confirmed: The system admin confirmed the integration.

WebEx

For customers with a Webex Meeting Center VLS integration, the SuccessFactors® Learning system now supports REST APIs and the Webex Control Hub.

Feature Sunsets and Removals

We say “farewell” to a few features and options in this release.

SAP removed the Free-form option for the Send email notifications from the field in the Send Email Notification Tool on the Application Administration page.

The Copy User functionality reaches its End of Development on June 2, 2023, and SAP will delete it on November 17, 2023.

Auditing Enhancements

Audit information is now available for user-taken assessments including data on create, updates, and delete information for:

  • Quizzes
  • Quiz Answer Choices
  • Quiz Questions
  • Quiz Objectives
  • Exam Settings

We’ve broken down the major SAP SuccessFactors® H1 2023 updates to help you easily digest the latest changes. In this post, we’ll look at what’s new in Recruiting Management and Marketing.

Data Privacy Consent Statement

Candidates with existing accounts can now accept or reject an updated Data Privacy Consent Statement (DPCS) when applying to a Quick Apply position.

Before the release, the candidate had to log in to their profile and accept the DPCS before proceeding with the quick application. SuccessFactors would display a dialog if system admins changed the DPCS statement.

This feature comes from the Customer Community and will improve a candidate’s experience.

How to turn it on: This is a Universal update.

Single-level Picklist Field Improvements

Picklist fields on the Job Application portlets now have typeahead, where selecting the textbox displays the available picklist values.

This new feature applies to these portlets:

  • Application
  • Background field including Formal education, Previous employment, and Work experience
  • More Information

Where implemented, the system will respond to typing and suggest suitable options. The typeahead feature simplifies searching for a picklist value, especially on large picklists.

This feature also came from the Customer Community.

How to turn it on: This is a universal update.

Forward as Applicant for Evergreen Requisitions

As a recruiter, you can now forward a candidate as an applicant from an evergreen requisition to its child requisition, irrespective of the candidate visibility option. You can forward multiple or single applicants.

In the previous version, recruiters couldn’t forward candidates as applicants to child requisitions when candidates chose visibility settings other than Any Recruiter Worldwide. Recruiters couldn’t fully use the evergreen requisitions feature.

You can use the feature by enabling evergreen requisitions and configuring the Forward as Applicant option in the Application XML template.

This is another Customer Community idea.

How to turn it on:  This is a Universal update.

If you are using any of the following features, make sure you update your configuration.

Replacement of Google Universal Analytics for Career Sites

Google is replacing Universal Analytics with Google Analytics 4.

=If you’ve been using Universal Analytics for your career site, you’ll have to replace the existing Google Analytics ID field with the new Google Analytics 4 ID field.

The due date to replace this is July 1, 2023.

How to turn it on: This is a Universal update, but an administrator needs to update credentials.

Replacement of DocuSign Authentication Method for Recruiting Integrations

DocuSign is changing authentication methods from basic to OAuth 2.0. As a result, the settings that enable electronic signatures in SuccessFactors Recruiting have new fields.

If you are using basic authentication for DocuSign, you’ll need to update your configuration settings.

SAP extended the timeline to upgrade to the new DocuSign Authentication until September 2023.

The Offer Letter with eSignature functionality will stop working after September 30, 2023, if you haven’t configured the DocuSign eSignature section.

How to turn it on: This is a Universal update, but an administrator needs to update the configuration.

Country/Region Name Change in the ISO Country List

This is a compliance update that will update the ISO standard name for Turkey

SAP updated the background files and recommends you make the front-end changes as required. If you don’t update the system, it won’t be consistent with labeling.

How to turn it on: This is a universal update. However, you must make the following configuration changes:

  • Manually update the MDF generic object Country/Region in Admin Center to reflect the country name change to Türkiye.
  • Configure the country picklist with ISO values for Country/Region names.

We’ve broken down the major SAP SuccessFactors® H1 2023 updates to help you easily digest the latest changes. In this post, we’ll look at what’s new in Succession and Career Development Planning.

This release’s improvements include a better user experience for employees and mentoring administrators.

Customizing Mentoring Email Notification Templates

You’ve always been able to customize the Mentoring invitation emails when creating a mentoring program.

Now you can customize the other Mentoring email notifications in Admin Center’s Email Notification Templates Settings. You can customize the email subject and body in all supported languages. You can also disable certain types of email notifications.

If you’ve customized your program types via Text Replacement, you can also customize email notifications for a specific program type in Email Notification Template Settings.

For example, your organization may use “coaching program” other than “mentoring program” as a program type. In the following screenshot, if you select Coaching Program under Mentoring Program Text Replacement Option and customize the email content, users in coaching programs receive the customized email notification.

How to turn it on: This is a universal update. To make these customizations, the administrative user must have the following Role-Based Permission granted: Administrator > Manage System Properties > Email Notification Template Settings.

With that done, go to the Email Notification Template Settings page in Admin Center, locate the notification(s), and make changes.

Mentoring in SuccessFactors iOS and Android Apps

You can now use Mentoring in iOS and Android SAP SuccessFactors Mobile apps to explore and manage opportunities.

You can:

  • Explore recommended mentoring programs and mentors
  • Join mentoring programs as a mentor or mentee, as recommended
  • Contact mentors and mentees by phone or email
  • (For mentees) Submit mentoring requests to preferred mentors, cancel requests, or end mentoring relationships
  • (For mentors) Accept mentoring requests, or decline them with or without comments
  • Check their progress in mentoring programs and the status of mentoring relationships
  • Edit mentoring preferences as necessary

Text Replacement at the program level is also supported in Mobile Mentoring. These features make it easier for users to access mentoring information and efficiently complete relevant tasks.

How to turn it on: This is a universal update. Ensure that in Admin Center > Mobile Settings, Career Development Plan module choice is enabled. Then, ensure users have the necessary permissions to access the Mobile and the Mentoring functionality.
