SAP SuccessFactors H1 2020 Mobile App Release Analysis

The H1 2020 SAP SuccessFactors Mobile app release updates are now available in preview, with some live in production as mobile updates are released monthly. As a reminder, the SAP SuccessFactors release schedule has moved from quarterly to twice-yearly. While the updates and optimizations are less frequent, it does mean more tangible changes when releases arrive.

The preview release for H1 went live on April 10, with the production release now delayed to June 5 to give customers extra time during the COVID-19 outbreak. 

Let’s look at the major enhancements for the H1 2020 SAP SuccessFactors mobile app release. As a reminder, for this update, SAP SuccessFactors has launched a new tool to view release data – What’s New Tool.

H1 2020 SAP SuccessFactors Mobile App Release

Employee Central

Open ASK HR Tickets Viewable on Mobile iOS and Android: The Employee Central Service Center Ask HR screen displays the user’s list of open tickets. This allows iOS and Android SAP SuccessFactors Mobile app users to see only the tickets that need their attention.

How to turn it on: This is a universal update.

Priority Field is Concealable for Mobile iOS and Android ASK HR Tickets: Employee Central Service Center Ask HR, for the iOS and Android SAP SuccessFactors Mobile apps, now respects the Priority field configuration setting to allow you to show or hide the ticket priority.

How to turn it on: This is a universal update. 

Time Sheet Custom Fields Supported for the iOS and Android Mobile Apps: The iOS and Android SAP SuccessFactors Mobile apps now support the following Time Sheet custom fields: Date, Boolean, Number, Decimal, and String.

Goals

Mobile App Support for Goal Percentage Field Values Above 100%: The SAP SuccessFactors Mobile app, for iOS and Android, now respects the Goal Plan Template configuration that allows users to enter a value that is above 100%.

Learning

This was a big Learning (LMS) release for SAP SuccessFactors. Expanding on the mobile updates below, we also have analysis on the rest of the H1 2020 Learning updates.

Course Instructor Surveys for iOS and Android Mobile Learning: The existing Follow-Up Survey and Evaluation Survey functionality now gives iOS and Android Learning users the ability to complete a survey for one or more instructors of a course.

Deep Link to Android Features: The Android SAP SuccessFactors Mobile app now supports the deep link to Learning Program Details, Registration Details, and Scheduled Offerings. This allows users to select the link and go directly to the relevant details of the program, registration details screen, or scheduled offerings information.

Deep Link to iOS Mobile Learning Scheduled Offering Details: The iOS SAP SuccessFactors Mobile app now supports the deep link to Learning scheduled offering details. This allows users to select the link and go directly to the relevant Scheduled Offering Details screen.

How to turn it on: This is a universal update.

Exiting of Mobile-Enabled Learning Content Using the Android Mobile Navigation Bar: Android SAP SuccessFactors Mobile app Learning users can launch mobile-enabled content in full-screen view but no longer see a button in the top corner to exit the content. Instead, users see the content as it has been developed and should use the device’s Back button in the Android navigation bar to exit the content.

Item Cover Pages Supported for Android Mobile Learning: The Learning Item Details screen for the Android SAP SuccessFactors Mobile app is redesigned to support item cover pages and to provide a better overall experience.

iOS and Android Mobile Learning Terminology Updates: Several iOS and Android SAP SuccessFactors Mobile Learning terms were updated to create a better alignment with the terminology changes added to the Learning web application in the 1H 2020 release. Onboarding

SAP SuccessFactors e-Signature Improvements: SAP SuccessFactors e-Signature is now available on mobile devices. It is supported on Internet Explorer, in addition to the existing support on Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari browsers. This functionality captures the date of the signature in the signatory’s time zone.

iOS and Android Mobile Apps Respect the Disable Deleting Feedback Option: The iOS and Android SAP SuccessFactors Mobile apps respect the new Admin Center setting for Continuous Performance Management (CPM) Feedback that allows administrators to control whether or not users can delete feedback they have received. This setting is switched off by default.

How to turn it on: Admin Opt-In.

Platform

iOS Mobile App Allows the Switch Profile Option: SAP SuccessFactors Mobile administrators can enable a new setting in the Admin Center to allow users of shared iOS devices to Switch Profiles before handing off access to the device. Previously, the only option was for each user to Sign Out. 

How to turn it on: Admin Opt-In.

iOS Mobile App Includes Spell Check Capability: The iOS SAP SuccessFactors Mobile app now uses the native iOS spell check functionality. iOS users can catch and correct spelling errors as they enter text in the app.

Reward and Recognition

Award Redemption Available on the Android and iOS Mobile App: The Android and iOS SAP SuccessFactors Mobile apps now allow users to redeem awards and view award balances. This feature creates better alignment between the Android and iOS mobile apps and the web application.
